Y/R: Meeting Wed 29 Mar
TO: Peter SYMONDS cc PRSLFC 2006 Management Committee
President PRSLFC 2006 U8 Team Managers/Coaches
PITTWATER RSL FOOTBALL CLUB
JUNIOR PARENTS HAVE HIGHER LEVEL OF DUTY-OF-CARE EXPECTATIONS
Peter - As I have tried to explain over the last 3 months the Sub-junior
Players Parents have a higher level of Duty of Care expectations than the
soccer players particularly with the use of e-mail and a web-site.
There have been a number of questions channelled through me from the trial
games which may be appropriate to clarify at the Team Managers & Coaches
meeting on Wed 29 Mar
1 Receipts late registrations
2 Web clarification for policy on late registrations
3 Process for collection socks and training shirts
4 Process to lodge a complaint
5 Team Managers/Coaches job description
6 Explanation of Registration Fee structure
7 Number of players per team/duration game
8 Duty Care Sub-juniors & Aus Sports Commission guide-lines
1 RECEIPTS LATE REGISTRATIONS
A number of people have asked me how they can collect a receipt for payment
of the registration fee.
I was given another registration on Sun 26 Mar and another will be given to
me later this week.
Where can people collect their receipts ?
Could we have an electronic registration process on the Web-site which
automatically provides a receipt ?
2 CLARIFY POLICY ON WEB-SITE FOR LATE REGISTRATIONS
A number of people who registered late have said that the adverts in the
Manly Daily did not say that Free Socks and Training shirts were only
available if people registered on the 3 specified registration dates.
It appears to be causing a lot of ill-will by charging people $ 5.00 for
socks and $ 10.00 for Training Shirts for late registrations.
Several people have said on principal they may complain to the Sponsors
I think if future we have to make sure that is clearly stated on the ad
and the web-site.
Can we place the policy on the web now and update the information from the
2004/2005 registration details ?
http://www.pittwatersoccer.com/rego2004.asp
3 PROCESS FOR COLLECTION SOCKS
I have received many phone calls and e-mails on how to collect outstanding
socks.
As the socks were not available on the registration dates would you explain
when those people with receipts can collect the socks and those who have to
pay can collect their socks/training shirts
4 PROCESS TO LODGE A COMPLAINT
Two parents approached me on Sun 26 Mar asking how to lodge a complaint
about derogatory remarks being made by one of the oppostion parents.
As the Australian Sports Commission has developed a web-site to explain to
Clubs how to have policies and processes in place would you explain the
Club's process for parents to lodge a complaint
5 TEAM MANAGERS/COACHES JOB DESCRIPTION
As you provided me with a job description as the U8 Age Co-ordinator I have
been asked if there is a job description for a Team Manager and for a Coach
6 EXPLANATION OF REGISTRATION FEE STRUCTURE
Could you explain the 2006 Registration Fee structure for the U6,U7,U8 and
who receives the payments
a FFA Levy $ 6.50
b Funding Reps $ 11.00
c Sporting Union $ 3.30
d Administration $ 30.00
e Player Insurance $ 9.50
f Cromer Park Levy $ 11.00
g Playing Fees $ 9.71
h NSW Capitation Fee $ 2.99
TOTAL $ 84.00
The total registration fee is $ 120.00
Player Insurance $ 9.50 has been charged twice - why is that ?
Does the Club take another $ 27.50 for administration ?
****It transpired that $ 30.00 is paid to the Peak Body
Manly Warringah Football Association [MWFA] who keep all
the player records.
Each year the Registration Form details are printed out
and posted to the Player's Parents.
This document has to be updated manually and presented
at the Registration Day
If there was an Electronic Registration process there would
be a major drop in administration costs*****
7 NUMBER OF PLAYERS PER TEAM/DURATION GAME
According to the MWFA Sub-Junior Soccer rules (r4) "A maximum of 9 players
from each team can be on the field at any time".
Is there a reason why we only allow 6 ?
According to the MWFA Sub-Junior Soccer rules (r8) "Matches are for 20 minutes
each half with five-minute half time break".
Is there a reason why we only play 15 minutes per half ?
8 DUTY CARE SUBJUNIORS & AUS SPORTS GUIDE-LINES
The Australian Sports Commission web-site "Play by the Rules" has clearly
define Duty of Care policies for sub-juniors
At the last Management Committee meeting on 08 Mar 2006 the rest of the
Committee were unaware of the Duty of Care issues for sub-juniors as the
majority of the discussion and focus is on the Seniors.
What is the process for the Sub-juniors to establish their own management
committee that can focus on the issues involving Sub-junior football players
such as a Sub-juniors Dispute Resolution Committee to review parents complaints ?
NEXT STEPS
There may be other questions from the floor.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night
