Guides for Baffled Parents

As we have lost the two opening games 0-3 and 0-8, Matt & I discussed how we need to take
positive action quickly so that the players could get the skills and confidence during the
school holidays to score more goals.

Here are two books that you may want to take out of Pittwater Library to discuss with your player
and two Internet sites provided by Sue & Danny POPE.

Matt is reviewing the books and may include a number of the Activities in Practice - the names
of these drills are included so you know what your player is talking about if he/she enjoys the
Activity.

A	The Baffled Parents Guide to Great Soccer Drills

B	The Guinness Book of Skilful Soccer - more suited for 11 and above

C	Two Internet Sites for Coaching

A THE BAFFLED PARENTS GUIDE TO GREAT SOCCER DRILLS

This book has 125 different games/activities in 4 sections

The games/activities that appear to be suitable for the Pittwater Crows are:

B	THE GUINNESS BOOK OF SKILFUL SOCCER

This is more suitable for older players - however it has some very good ideas on how a player
can practice passing, trapping and shooting against a wall

C	INTERNET SITES

Sue and Danny POPE have also provide a couple of web-links that also provide extensive soccer
tips. As yet have not had time to review in detail. "Footy for Kids" looks like it could be
very helpful.

1	How to Coach U6 to U8

2	Footy for Kids - this looks very good
